  9.         This  file  contains   important  licensing, registration and
  10.         evaluation information about the SPLOT for Windows program.
  11.  
  12.         SPLOT  is  distributed  as  "Shareware"  or  "User  Supported
  13.         Software"  and  is  fully  copyrighted.  If  you register the
  14.         program you will receive these benefits:
  15.  
  16.           1) The latest version of SPLOT.
  17.           2) A printed user's manual.
  18.           3) A printed technical reference which describes
  19.              all plotter instructions supported by SPLOT.
  20.           4) An end to the nag screens and opening banners.
  21.           5) Deep discounts on the next major versions.
  22.  
  23.     The  single  user  registration fee  for SPLOT for Windows is
  24.         $65.00 (US funds).  The  multisystem  site  fee  for SPLOT is
  25.         $140.00. Users outside of Europe should include an additional
  26.         $5.00 for international airmail.

  28.     Author can accept payment in these three ways:
  29.  
  30.      1) In cash (money enclosed) - this is the most quick method,
  31.         but at your risk.
  32.  
  33.      2) Credit card  -  MasterCard, VISA and American Express are
  34.         accepted.  Please,  fill out  carefully  the  credit card
  35.         information in order form.
  36.  
  37.      3) Bank or travelers cheque enclosed - please make  a cheque
  38.         payable in US funds.

  40.     Since  the  SPLOT  program  is  always distributed with a DLL
  41.         library (libraries)  adapted for  a certain  plotter type, do
  42.     not forget to mention the plotter type with which you want to
  43.     use the  SPLOT program.   A list  of plotters  you can choose
  44.     from is given in the  PLOTTERS.TXT file.  In this  file there
  45.     are also given the parameters of these plotters together with
  46.     a list of supported instructions. It makes possible to choose
  47.     a suitable plotter  type even if  your plotter is  not listed
  48.     (most  plotters  are  compatible  with  some plotter from the
  49.     list). Of course, you can  order SPLOT program with more  DLL
  50.     libraries  for  different  plotter  types.   In this case the
  51.     single  user  registration  fee  for  any  further version is
  52.     $20.00 (+ $5.00 outside Europe) and the multisystem site  fee
  53.     is $40.00 (+ $5.00 outside  Europe).  This principle is  also
  54.     valid for an  upgrade.  If  you have registered  at least one
  55.     SPLOT program version at the full price of $65.00  ($140.00),
  56.     now and in the future only $20.00 ($40.00) is to be paid  for
  57.     all other versions.

  59.     Special offer:
  60.     Registered users of  the MS-DOS version of  the SPLOT program
  61.     can order the MS-Windows version for $45.00 only ( $95.00 for
  62.     the  multisystem  site  licence )  (+ $5.00  outside  Europe).
  63.     In this  case fill out your  serial number  in order form and
  64.     mark it as `upgrade from DOS version'.
  65.     Note:  The  latest  MS-DOS  version  of the SPLOT program  is
  66.     available  on  all  SIMTEL20  archives  in   <MSDOS.GRAPHICS>
  67.     directory as SPLTXXX.ZIP file (recently SPLT250.ZIP).

  70.     with this package  (as provided in  the file ORDER.TXT  or in
  71.     the help file).

  86.                        EVALUATION AGREEMENT
  87.  
  88.         SPLOT  is not  and  has never been  public  domain  software,
  89.         nor is it free software.
  90.  
  91.         Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use SPLOT
  92.         on  a  14-day  trial  basis  for  the  purpose of determining
  93.         whether SPLOT is suitable for their needs.  The use of SPLOT,
  94.         except for the initial 14-day trial,  requires  registration.
  95.         The use of unlicensed copies of SPLOT by any person,business,
  96.         corporation or any other entity is strictly prohibited.
  97.  
  98.         No one may modify or  patch the SPLOT executable file  in any
  99.         way, including but not limited to decompiling, disassembling,
  100.         or otherwise reverse engineering the program.

  102.         A limited  license is  granted to  copy and  distribute SPLOT
  103.         only  for  the  trial  use  of  others,  subject to the above
  104.         limitations, and also the following:
  105.  
  106.         1) SPLOT must be  copied in unmodified form,  complete
  107.            with the file containing this license information.
  108.  
  109.         2) The full machine-readable SPLOT documentation  must
  110.            be included with each copy.
  111.  
  112.         3) SPLOT  may not  be distributed  in conjunction with
  113.            any other product without a specific license to  do
  114.            so from author.
  115.  
  116.         4) No  fee,  charge,  or  other  compensation  may  be
  117.            requested or accepted, except as authorized below:
  118.  
  119.            a) Operators of  electronic bulletin board  systems
  120.               (sysops)   may   make   SPLOT   available    for
  121.               downloading as long as the above conditions  are
  122.               met.   An overall  or time-dependent  charge for
  123.               the  use  of  the   bulletin  board  system   is
  124.               permitted as  long as  there is  not a  specific
  125.               charge for the download of SPLOT.

  127.            b) Vendors of user-supported or shareware  software
  128.               may  distribute  SPLOT  after  obtaining written
  129.               permission  from  author.  Such  permission   is
  130.               usually granted. Vendors may charge a reasonable
  131.               disk duplication and handling fee.

  135.                        LICENSING AGREEMENT
  136.  
  137.         Licensed user are bound to the following licensing agreement.

  139.         You may not transfer your license without written  permission
  140.         from author.  A single  user license  permits a  user to  use
  141.         SPLOT only on a single computer at a time.
  142.  
  143.         This product is distributed  AS IS.  The  author specifically
  144.         disclaims all  warranties, expressed  or implied,  including,
  145.         but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability and
  146.         fitness for a particular  purpose with respect to  defects in
  147.         the diskette and  documentation, and program  license granted
  148.         herein,  in  particular,  without  limiting  operation of the
  149.         program license with  respect to any  use or purpose.   In no
  150.         event shall the author  be  liable for any loss of  profit or
  151.         damage  including  but  not  limited  to special, incidental,
  152.         consequential or other damages.
